Does Having Children Young , mean I will have to Sacrifice having a Career?

It is a common misunderstanding, that having children young will mean that it is impossible to have a career. However in the last five years, across social Media we have witnessed young Successful Mothers balancing both.

The question you need to ask yourself, 'Is are ready to be a mother or are you ready to balance both?'
Since the 1920's during the year of the suffragettes and the suffragist. Women have tried to move away from straining stereotypes such House wife and now at present teenage mums on benefits.

We have now entered an Era where mothers are learning to balance both. Mothers are seen posting jobs across social media including Working from home and opening up their own baby clothing line. It is not the fact that Mothers cannot work, but rather a decision that some mothers choose not to work. Depending on the Career path you wish to pursue some jobs or training will require a certain level of qualification. Knowing this some mothers are already daunting the time they will have to spend away from their child.

Do you often feel guilty, leaving your child to attend work or study?

It is important to remember to start when your ready. Having a child isn't easy, and many complications can arise before and after birth. It is known that mothers who tend to have a career before they had their children, will become more attached and leave their career to mind their children. On the other hand mothers who have their children young (16-25) will nurse their babies and enter training when the time is right, leaving babies in Government approved childcare.

It is crucial that a mothers mental health is stable before she returns back to work or makes decisions about work. Time is important and there is no competition. Take your  time to watch your child grow, otherwise you will miss out!.. on the things which can't be repeated like; 'your child saying Mama or your Childs first steps'.

Talk to Someone ! Mothers, especially single mothers can often feel alone during the pressures of being a new Mum. Over the last couple of years 'parenting support groups' and 'mums and babies groups'  have been on the rise.
If your feeling lonely, 'Get out there' and' Go for walks with your newborn'.

Are you using your baby as a excuse to stop pursing your career?

Entering motherhood and becoming a parent, will be the most beautiful and straining thing you will ever do. But no one often talks about what happens after birth. No one talks about fear which enters your mind, when your that you are doing the right thing. The pressure that you are letting your child down by not being the person you wish you was.
STOP, worrying about things that haven't happened yet.
Maybe at present, you can hide behind the fact that you are a full time mother,.. and this is the reason you can't pursue your chosen career. But as time goes by, you child will begin to grow and become less dependant on you. Now unless you have another child within two years of your last, then failing to pursue your career is just another excuse (thats if you really want it ?).
